WHO ARE WE?

My Mission

To make every goalkeeper that we work with the best player that they can be!

Individual development and helping every single goalkeeper that we work with to be the best that they can be.  Helping every single one of them to meet their goals no matter how big or small they are.  We want to pass along the knowledge that we have learned from playing and coaching soccer and we want all the players that we work with to be able to exceed their expectations.

My Story

During my youth career I played for teams such as Team Chicago, Campton United, and Sockers FC.  I went on to attend school and play college soccer at Lewis University where I was a three year varsity starter.  My final two years at Lewis I was part of a team that made the NCAA playoffs, getting knocked out in the round of 32 and then the next year in the round of 16.  During my time at Lewis I amassed a 40-12-4 overall record over my four years with 201 saves, 21 shutouts, and a .86 GAA.  I was named an All-GLVC first team selection once and an All-GLVC second team selection twice.  My final year I earned 10 shutouts, a .52 GAA, and a national best 88.5% save percentage.  I was also named an All-GLVC second team selection, a Daktronics Midwest Region second team selection, and an NSCAA/Adidas College Scholar All-American second team selection.

After my playing career, I moved onto the sideline and I have now been coaching and training goalkeepers for 10 years.  My coaching and my travels have provided me with many experiences, taken me around the country, and around the world.

My coaching career started in 2009 working for a local club, Hawks Soccer Club, in Oak Brook.  After a year I moved onto Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL.  Lynn University, an NCAA Division II program, is a perennial power house in college soccer.  In 2011 I was luck enough to be a part of a program that reached the NCAA Division II National Final.  We were unlucky that night and ended up losing the game 3-2 in OT, needless to say it was a heartbreaker but also a learning experience.  A year later in 2012 I was lucky enough to again find the team and myself in the NCAA Division II National Final.  This time around we came out on the right end of the result and won the game and a National Championship 3-2!  During these first three years I had the opportunity and privilege to work with a goalkeeper, Matt DiCerbo, who grew tremendously under my guidance.  By his last year in 2012, not only did he win a National Championship but he was voted as an All-American as well!  I spent another year at Lynn University and it was another very good season, but could not compare to the high of winning a National Championship.

After that year finished up I made a personal and professional decision to make a move to the NCAA Division I program DePaul University.  I spent four seasons at DePaul from 2014-2018.  Coaching and competing in NCAA Division I and the BIG EAST Conference was a great learning experience and growing experience for me.  During my time there I coached a goalkeeper, Macklin Robinson, who is currently still in the professional ranks and has played for North Carolina FC, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, New York Cosmos B, and is currently with the Tampa Bay Rowdies.  During my time at DePaul I also worked on the club side for United Soccer Academy and Eclipse SC, both out of Oak Brook.

After moving on from DePaul I was the Director of Goalkeeping at Campton United Soccer Club in St. Charles.  This was a whole different perspective for me and I have enjoyed learning and growing with this new challenge.  Teaching, coaching, and developing young aspiring goalkeepers from the grassroots level up has brought me ‘back to basics’ and more fully developed my coaching abilities.

I spent just over a year and a half with Campton and worked with goalkeepers that were as young as 9 and 10 years old all the way up to goalkeepers that are now either in college or are committed to play in college.

Most recently I made another move in a professional coaching career and had the opportunity to become the Director of Goalkeeping at Chicago Empire F.C. based out of Clarendon Hills, IL.  This was a step for me to continue to grow and develop as a coach and also take on more responsibility on the administrative and professional side of things within the club.

I continue to have a desire to grow and develop myself as a coach and in turn, I have a desire to grow and develop the players that I work with every day!
